Come learn how to capture extremely high-resolution photographic images with extreme detail!

The landscape of the desert southwest entices photographers from the beginning amateur, to the consummate professional. Join us in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks to learn how to capture these stunning red-rock desert vistas, in the extremely high-resolution only a panoramic image can provide!

This workshop is focused (literally) on teaching you all the techniques required to capture, stitch and print single and multi-row panoramic images.

Based out of Moab Utah, we will operate this workshop in both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks as well as learning in the classroom (we have a private conference room for the classroom portion of this workshop), to teach you from beginning to end, everything you need to know to capture extremely high-resolution panoramic images!

• How to find the "nodal" point to eliminate parallax
• Critical camera settings required for the consistency needed for high quality panoramic photographs
• How to capture single and multi-row panoramic scenes -- we will visit multiple locations!
• How to prepare your images for "stitching" (combining them into one single image)
• Best practices for stitching to ensure the highest quality end result

This workshop will teach you both single row and multi-row panoramic techniques.

Single-row panoramic images require the merging, or "stitching," of the sequential edges of two or more images.

Multi-row panoramic images require the merging ("stitching") of both sequential edges of images and their neighboring sequenced images in the adjacent rows. Much like a puzzle, each image must have the correct alignment in order for it to "fit" into its unique location of the scene.

Once we've captured a few panoramic images in and around Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, we will return to our Hotel for a classroom workshop on how to stitch and post-process your images. We will cover the best practices of pre-processing, stitching, error correction, and final post-processing.

Day 1 (Hands-on Classroom):

• 8am: Orientation
• 9am-Noon: Gear review, pano techniques classroom lecture, Finding the nodal point exercise
• 1pm to sunset in-field panoramic shooting

Day 2 (All Day in-field shooting):

• 3-4 hours in-field Morning photography session
• Lunch Break
• 3-4 hours in-field Afternoon photography session

Day 3 (Classroom post-processing):

• 8am: Downloading images, sorting & organizing
• In-depth stitching session
• Post-Stitch processing
• 12pm (Noon) Workshop Conclusion

Equipment To Bring

DSLR or Mirrorless Camera Required: A DSLR or Mirrorless Camera will give you full power and creative control to get the most out of your learning experience on this workshop.	Lens Required: For best results, we strongly recommend a prime (fixed) lens between 35-200mm. For this workshop, a 50mm fixed and a 100-200mm fixed would be good options. If you have it (or rent) a 300mm fixed would also be an excellent lens for this workshop.	Pano Nodal System Required: A manual multi-row panoramic kit. There are many brands to choose from. For the best results and to get the most out of this workshop we highly recommend the following gear. (Note: A Gigapan is not an option for this workshop.)	Tripod Required: Stability is everything in Photography! Using a sturdy tripod will help improve your compositions and get sharper images. A tripod also helps you have both hands free to focus (pun intended!) on learning and getting "the shot"!	Laptop with PhotoShop Required: A Mac or PC laptop with Adobe Photoshop® CS4 or later. If you do not have Photoshop you can purchase Creative Cloud (CC) for a $10 per month subscription. (Adobe Creative Cloud)
